Blue Lagoon UV System 16W for Spas up to 15 Cubic Metres

The Blue Lagoon Domestic UV System has been sold in the UK for many years. The main benefits of using a UV Lamp with your swimming pool are listed below:

Using a UV system makes sense for most UK pool owners. They are fairly simple to install just plumb it inline with your existing system (read instructions in the resources tab). They will allow you to use 80% less chlorine in your pool. You will still need to keep a small background level of chlorine. The Blue Lagoon UV System has a 2 year manufacturers warranty (excludes lamps). The life expectancy of the Phillips Lamp supplied with the UV systems is 9000 hrs. The UV lamps effectiveness will decrease over time. 9000 hours is the approximate life cycle. Spare lamps can be purchased from this store.

The 40W and 75W systems include a built in timer which can be set to cut off the UV system in accordance with the running time of the circulation pump if it is not being run 24/7 and prevent the UV system from being accidentally left on resulting in overheating. The timer also has an operation time counter so you will know when it is time to change the lamps. The 130W system does not have a timer and instead it has an integrated flow sensor to eliminate the system working in no-flow situations..

Various size UV systems are available the smallest suitable for a pool or spa 15m3 (UVC16). The largest system will treat a pool 150m3 (UVC130).

A couple of things to remember with all UV Systems for Swimming Pools: The lamps are extremely fragile. So please make sure you physically check the lamp on delivery. If you can’t check the lamp then do sign for the UV System ‘Unchecked’. Also remember that you will still have to brush your pool walls and clean your pool as normal. The UV lamp can only ZAP bacteria and other nasties when they go through the UV. It’s the exposure to the UV that kills them!
