The Calorex Variheat Series 2 provides effective humidity control, air heating, water heating along with built in heat recovery to air and water.

The Calorex Variheat 2 system recovers both sensible and, more importantly, latent heat from the pool hall air during the dehumidification process. This heat is then put back into the air and water, which saves significant amounts of energy.

The Calorex Variheat 2 incorporates a pool water heat exchanger and air heater battery, these provide the backup heating which is required during cold start. These are fed by low-pressure hot water (LPHW) from a separate boiler.

Control of an indoor pool environment requires several differentfunctions which are interrelated; Humidity Control, Pool Water Heating, Pool Air Heating, Energy Recovery, Maintenance of Pool Air Quality, Total System Control. The Series 2 can provide a solution to all of these factors.

Total System Control

With any essential machine, a fully integrated control system is required. The Variheat 2 is no exception, providing:

• Both Air & Pool water temperature setting and indication.
• Variable Air humidity setting and monitoring.
• Inbuilt time clock to lower the pool hall temperature at set times (when the pool cover is in place) saving energy when the pool is not in use.
• Pilot lights for Power On, Defrost, Dehumidification, Air Heating and Water Heating.
• Digital air and pool water temperature setting and indication Analogue humidity setting.
• Pool cover on time clock to enable air temperature set back to further reduce energy consumption.
• Indicator lights for power on, defrost, dehumidification, air heating and water heating.
• Option to add a fresh air module.

Advantages of the Calorex Variheat Series 2

• The Calorex Variheat Series 2 can easily be installed in an adjacent plant room.
• Supply air ducting can be connected to the Variheat 2 to recirculate the air. This promotes uniform conditions throughout the pool hall or enclosure. Most importantly the duct work can direct warm air over glazed areas.
• Can connect to Overhead (Top Outlet) or Underfloor (Bottom Outlet) ductwork systems.
• Space heating is carried out by a fully controlled heater battery, fed by your primary hot water circuit (LPHW). This method of air heating promotes consistant and controllable air tempratures which are so important within a humid pool hall.
• Pool water heat included within unit. Water is heated via heat recovery and the heat exchange.
• Front mounted control panel built into the unit to reduce wiring time.

The Variheat Series 2 is available with either top or bottom outlet to suit ductwork layout. The control panel is always on the front. The cabinet size will depend on the size of model or fan, however all sizes are design to fit through standard doors. The weights range from 170 KG to 206kg which means they can be man handled safely with enough help! The only slight drawback of the Variheat Series 2 is there are only 2 configurations. Top Outlet and Bottom Outlet. Often the Calorex Series 2 Dehumidifier works out cheaper to purchase than the Series 3.
