This Zodiac Ei Salt Chlorinator is a great addition to any pool. The really unique feature about the Ei unit is the very simple installation. Its uses a ‘quick fix’ system that clamps directly on to existing pipe work. No expensive repiping is required, just a drill and a few bags of salt!

Salt Chlorinators work by generating Sodium Hypochlorite (Liquid Chlorine) from the salt that has been dissolved in the pool (Sodium Chloride). Basically a small charge passes over the water in the ‘cell’ the result is a small amount of chlorine that is dissolved in the water.
The salt is actually not even used up during this process, which means you don’t have to worry about topping up the salt levels. You should only have to do this once or twice a year! Remember salt only cost £15 a 25kg bag too.
Different salt chlorinators use different concentrations of salt. This system requires 4 grams per litre which is 4000 Parts per Million (4000 ppm). So in a standard size pool 9m x 4m you would require aprox 175KG of salt (7 bags).
