Every indoor pool needs a dehumidifier. High levels of humidity left unchallenged can be a major problem in an indoor pool environment. Water evaporating from the pool or spa surface increases air humidity, and can eventually lead to mould, structural damage or collapse.
Vaporex Dehumidifiers from Calorex offer an efficient and economical solution for every pool.
Wall hung dehumifiers will allow you to control the moisture in your pool hall for a much lower capital cost than larger ducted systems.
Vaporex offer a range of size to suit most sized swimming pools, however we would recommend that you speak to us so that we can make sure you purchase the correct unit for your needs. We have an indepth knowledge of supplying and installing all types of dehumifers and can offer you independent advice from across our range.
One benefits of opting for the Vaporex range is they offer a range of units with different functions. This means you will not need to buy a function you wont need, which will help to keep your price low.
All of the Vaporex Dehumifiers are Air to Air Heat Recovery units that use heat pump technology to remove the moisture. All units are fully automatic and have a built in humidistat. The unit will recirculate the air across a cold coil that condenses the moisture out of the air. Heat will then be recovered back to the pool hall air, reducing your heating cost further.
A comfortable humidity level for an indoor swimming pool is 60 to 65% RH (Relative Humdity).
The Vaporex Range are available in two sizes, the smaller size unit such as the 33 and 30 can remove upto 3 litres an hour. Whilst the larger 55 and 50 model can remove upto 5 litres per hour.
All models are available with a defost mode, this option will cost a little extra but is worthwhile if your pool hall ever drops below 16 degrees. The defrost will de-ice the unit so that it can continue to function correctly.
Heat is very important within a pool hall to help keep the humidity under control. Which is why the Vaporex is available with two air heating options.
LPHW heater coil means you will need to connect your Vaporex to a boiler, the boiler will need to deliver low pressure hot water on demand. This demand is signalled by the temperature stat, which is included. It is the same as a standard home heating thermostat. Your installer will have to set up a simple zone valve. More details can be found in the installation guide. You can download this from the resources tab above.
The other type of heating available is a standard electrical restistance heater coil. This is an excellent option if you cannot get the required LPHW pipe to the unit. Obviously the LPHW system is cheaper to run as gas is cheaper per Kw/hr than electric unless you have solar PV on your property.
The beauty of these Vaporex units are they are very easy to install. Some of these models will run off a standard 13 amp supply, electrical heating versions require a larger supply. Please check before purchase or call us. You will then have to route a condensation pipe to waste. Never run the condensate back into the pool as this could be a health risk.
As with all electrical equipment within a pool hall this will need to be installed to the latest regulations. These are 240V so must be installed with safe zones or distances from the pool or spa water. This can mean they are installed at high level. You can download the Guide from our resources tab alternatively call us for a chat.
If you pool hall is fairly small, and these safe distances are a problem then you may have to consider the Through The Wall Option. This is basically the same model range with the same performance, however they are mounted in an adjacent room. Just the air intake and return grilles will be seen in the pool hall. The Through The Wall Option can often look neater as all that will be visable are the two grilles. White plastic grilles are supplied as standard along with a wall duct kit. We can supply replacement grilles for all through the wall (an all other Calorex) dehumifiers. We can supply any RAL colour POA.
Calorex are rolling out newer models with optional facia covers. Which should improve the appreance of these Vaporex models. This is the only slight draw back of the Vaporex range of units. The styling does not seemed to have move on from the 80’s! That said the performance and reliability which let face it is the most important factor, is the best on the market.
All Vaporex units are supplied with a comprehensive 2 year parts and labour warranty. We can testify the quality of all Calorex units. They are made in the UK to the highest standard. Buy right, buy once, buy British.
